The schools are batsh*t crazy, the state pension funds are broke, serial killers on Death Row die at 90 of Alzheimer’s, we elect governors who tax the state literally out of house and home, and then we elect them again thirty years later to see if they’ll do better this time.
So it stands to reason that San Diego (yes, they actually visit the tanning salon before going to the beach) would elect this wackadoo.
Liberal Democrat and San Diego Mayor Bob Filner, hours after being accused of sexual harassment by numerous female employees, issued a public apology and pleaded to keep his job amid calls for his resignation:
I begin today by apologizing to you. I have diminished the office to which you elected me. The charges made in today’s news conference are serious. When a friend like Donna Frye is compelled to call for my resignation, I’m clearly doing something wrong, and I have reached into my heart and soul and realized, I must, and will, change my behavior. …
Yada yada yada and so forth, boilerplate apology and, of course, no resignation.
Here’s what his liberal friends have to say:
Donna Frye, the former city councilwoman, said last week it was one of the most painful moments of her career to come forward against her friend and political ally.
But God bless her. On Monday, she recounted the claims of two female constituents, who said they were assaulted by Filner. The stories have different settings, but they are remarkably similar and both end with Filner, 70, trying to force himself on them.
“I want to kiss you, you are so beautiful,” the mayor allegedly said to a campaign volunteer before grabbing her on a sidewalk and “jamming his tongue down her throat.” She pushed him away, but she had agreed to give him a ride and didn’t want to be rude. While she was deciding what to do, Frye said, the mayor “quickly had his hand on the inside of her bra and was again trying to put his tongue down her throat.”
Of course Bob has an explanation.
“I’m a hugger, with both men and women and if it turns out that … those are taken in an offensive manner, I need to have a greater sense of awareness of what I am doing.”
Bob, call Anthony Weiner. There’s a way you can do this and probably stay mayor.
Oh, one… no, two more words about California: Nancy. Pelosi.
Y’all come visit, hear? Just not during George Zimmerman week; the traffic’s murder.
