Like Limbaugh’s recent negotiations with Cumulus Media.
HuffPo’s slug was: Cumulus Dropping Rush Limbaugh, Sean Hannity: Report
It must be a great fantasy; lefty journos have been having it for 30 years. Because Limbaugh can move, virtually anywhere, up to and including starting his own company, as Glenn Beck did.
Who are the conglomerates going to slot as a replacement? Alan Colmes?
It’s the same with the establishment wing of the GOP. They despise Limbaugh because he holds them accountable. Most of the time the GOP simply pretends Limbaugh isn’t there. They would have us believe he is an embarrassment to the party when in fact, more often than not, he shows them to be the embarrassment.
Most of them don’t even understand the conservatism they supposedly espouse.
Limbaugh isn’t going anywhere, any time soon. He is successful because his audience views him as truthful. Even liberals don’t believe their own lies. Can you imagine Colmes lambasting his own party’s president and congressional leadership day after day for years?
Limbaugh showed why he remains the most popular radio presence of all time tonight on Greta Van Susteren.
Rush Limbaugh joined Greta Van Susteren for the full hour Tuesday night, and Limbaugh spent the first segment of the program bashing President Obama, sharing the “Limbaugh Theorem” for how the president governs, and taking the “slavish media” to task for not holding him accountable. He also had some choice words for Republicans capitulating too much to the Democratic agenda.
… He also slammed Republican leadership for brushing aside the tea party and “its conservative base on a number of issues,” saying the big problem with the GOP is too much capitulation to what the Democrats want.
Why doesn’t the Republican Party embrace them, bring them in and try to grow and have at least come up with a way to reach out and attach themselves to these people, a majority of voters? Instead they’re capitulating with what the Democrats want. And not just on this, but on immigration, amnesty, whatever you want to call it. [More]
The defunding of Obamacare is a tough and courageous call for tea party favorites in the House and Senate, frankly, because they have a party leadership that seemingly couldn’t give crack away in South Central Los Angeles with a megaphone and a soapbox.
Republican messaging is not only abysmal in the presentation, it is consistently the wrong message. Shutting down the government is a Democrat message; repealing Obamacare is and should have always been the GOP message.
Limbaugh, Mark Levin and other conservatives are spot-on that defunding is the absolute right thing to do. But with this party leadership?
