Matt Damon Proves He’s No ‘Good Will Hunting’… Again

Matt-Damon-matt-damon-9040444-1024-768I was awakened by a nightmare in the wee hours: It was a replay of Matt Damon’s movie Rounders.

Just kidding.

In response to a comment I made earlier this week on The Right Scoop, actor and bottomless well of political intellect Matt Damon decided to take Regular Right Guy and several other bloggers to the woodshed for our positions on a photographer’s right to refuse to shoot a lesbian wedding.

First, a little background.

The Right Scoop:

A case we’ve followed over the years has finally come to the highest court in New Mexico and the ruling from this court violates the very essence of the first amendment. The New Mexico Supreme Court ruled that Elane Photography, or any photographer, cannot refuse a gay wedding. It is considered discrimination:

In a closely watched case on gay rights, religious freedom, artistic freedom, the speech rights of businesses, and a host of other legal hot button issues, the New Mexico Supreme Court today ruled that wedding photographers could not refuse to shoot gay ceremonies.

“When Elane Photography refused to photograph a same-sex commitment ceremony, it violated the [New Mexico Human Rights Act, or NMHRA] in the same way as if it had refused to photograph a wedding between people of different races,” the court said in a unanimous verdict.

In 2008 Elane Huguein, who runs Elane Photography, refused a gay ceremony on the basis that she only photographed traditional weddings and she has been fighting for her freedom in court ever since. Now, unless the Supreme Court will take up the issue, it appears that all photographers in New Mexico will be compelled to photograph gay weddings or risk being sued for refusing. [Read it All]

Here was RRG’s comment:

Here is Damon’s rebuttal:

‘…photographer didn’t think she was pretty?’

Huh?

Inductive reasoning is tough.

Then TracyS1979 spanked Matt’s pampered little bottom, but good.

There are other great conservative responses to the actor’s bizarre rationale on why one special interest group can force free American citizens to work in what amounts to involuntary servitude. Be sure to check it out.

It’s called the Constitution, Matt. They even print it up in little booklets. No offense, but you’re playing Dumb and Dumber in this debate. I suggest the First, Thirteenth and Fourteenth Amendments for starters.

Read Romans 1:24-30 it’s pretty clear what the Bible says and what God thinks….
This nations morality of yesteryear no longer exists. In years past, even non-Christians knew what was moral and what was not……when we took prayer out of the schools and God out of our society…well we can see what happens. Funny that we can’t have Bibles in schools but we can certainly have them in prisons.
Approximately 2% of the society is telling us what we should believe. As far as, the country supporting gay marriage? Even liberal CALIFORNIA voted that down.
We are not bigots and I take exception to being called one just because I disagree….these people, like Matt, bully people and we don’t stand up. We have to start standing up for what we believe …..what happened to the John Wayne’s of Hollywood ? ..they can’t even speak up or they get blackballed. These people are bullies …..lets start standing up!!!!

This stupid NM ruling is like Justice Roberts telling us the federal government has the right to shove Obamacare down our throats. What the hell happened to individual rights not to do something? Then, there is the NM Dona Ana County clerk issuing unauthorized marriage licenses to gays even though NM has not legalized it. Yikes, it looks like the Californians are taking over over the state.

Well, California is really just a state of mind isn’t it. Justice Roberts? Yeah, what an assw*pe. Thank you for the comment.
