The GOP Needs a Fat Leader

chris_christie2-620x412You know? I’m talking a BIG honking irreverent fat guy with a 72-inch waistline, a sense of humor and the pol-craft to take this country back. A leader.

Oh, wait. You thought …? No, not that fat guy!

This fat guy:

I know; I should have used a more PC-appropriate term for fat. What is it? Horizontally enhanced, gravitationally challenged, alternative body imaged, belt-functionaly limited? But fat is a biologically correct term, if not sensitive. Anyway, Rush has trimmed down.

So forgive me, and know the Regular Guy smells the coffee when he glances in the mirror, right along with so many others nowadays.

Anyway, did the Establishment GOP stand on the sidelines and let Ken Cuccinelli go down to defeat for the Virginia governorship, rather than allow a perceived tea party victory?

The above clip was a Rush rant from November 7, and the RG was so bummed out—albeit not surprised—about Cuccinelli’s defeat that I couldn’t bring myself to blog about it until now. We need Virginia.

But here Rush so clearly articulates what is going on within the elitist wing of the Republican Party in Washington, that I had to speak to it irrespective of tardiness.

These guys, Establishment Republicans, have been riding the public dime for so long that they think of their power as an entitlement.

Here is an earlier Limbaugh monologue, a day or two after Ted Cruz made his heroic ObamaCare speech on the Senate floor.

So what is the RG’s point?

This is our fault. Every time we go to the polls and blindly punch a vote for a Lindsey Graham or John McCain we solidify their power. They go back to Washington to bigger offices and more powerful committee positions with each election victory, and promptly forget who put them there.

Don’t vote for them, don’t contribute to the national GOP, and be sure to make your objections to their policies known to them.

True, tea party conservatives must be smart and unify around one candidate, and libertarians must realize when they are simply being spoilers to the process. (There is a point at which we must leave the process to itself.)

But the Establishment GOP is every bit the threat to limited government and traditional American values as the Establishment Democrats. They both want unlimited central power and bath house morality.

Obligatory PC Disclaimer: It is not the intention of RRG to deride, ridicule or make fun of fat people’s struggle with between-meal snacking, late-night refrigerator bingeing or Dunkin Donut R&Rs. Any similarity between the persons described in this post and Chris Christie is strictly coincidental and is not intended to impugn, detract from, or make fun of his status as the Establishment GOP’s 2016 wet dream presidential nominee. Because William Howard Taft and Grover Cleveland.

Se habla español.

Oh, and WTFU Establishment GOP.

Almost felt bad about that one. Almost. Especially when Donald Douglas tweeted it to him.

According to this Christie hasn’t got a snowball’s chance in hell of winning the 2016 GOP primary.

Thanks for the link my friend.

Really, like you and I didn’t know it already. They’ll fish around until they get another clown like McCain or Romney and throw the money at them. I hope the base is smart enough this time.

Maybe we need a phat leader? Great article! I truly enjoyed it and had the same little thoughts spinning about my head. You just saved me hours of contemplating how to write it.
