Well, the St. Louis Rams took the RG’s advice and drafted openly gay football player Michael Sam on Saturday. It was a dirty job but somebody had to do it.
If you watched it—and we’ve only seen clips—it was like an old episode of “Murder She Wrote,” a real nail biter.
And predictably, there are now accusations of homosexual discrimination.
ST. LOUIS (CBS St. Louis/AP) — Michael Sam believes he should’ve been taken sooner in the draft.
The Rams selected the former University of Missouri defensive standout with the 249th pick in the seventh round, which was the seventh-to-the-last pick in the 2014 Draft. The openly gay football player, who was SEC Defensive Player of the Year, thought a team should have chosen him during the first three rounds.
“From last season alone, I should’ve been in the first three rounds. SEC Defensive Player of the Year, All-American,” Sam said during a conference call, adding that other teams chickened out on selecting him.
The frustration mounted for Sam as the hours and rounds passed by, but he felt he would be picked.
“I knew I was going to get picked somewhere. Every team that passed me, I was thinking how I’m going to sack their quarterback,” Sam said. [CBS]
Because, of course, boy-boy kiss. It couldn’t possibly be about serious reservations as to Sam’s ability to play on a professional level.
Yeah, second thought, we’re not going to do this.
Yes, CNN may now and forever be obligated to dispatch Anderson Cooper to the site of the next Michael Sam crisis, but we don’t care.
For the last 40 years, since gays have been legally allowed to sodomize their partners, it has always been about their personal feelings, and the rest of us are expected to put our lives on hold and kneed our hands until the next little snit, drama or crisis plays out. This played out, first, in workplace or social klatches and has gradually spread until they now have a national stage, much of it due to the cheerleading of the enablers in the media.
But the biggest problem most Americans have with gays is not whether or not they’re gay. It’s probably a novelty in some circles, but most of us really can’t be bothered. Just stay away from the kiddies, and we’re happy for you.
No, the biggest problem most of us have, is that, for gays, everything is about being gay.
It is still not legal for gays to sodomize each other publically, but one gets the sense that that is what radical gay activists really want.
It is not enough that people tolerate them, or even that they don’t give a flying #%@! what they do. No, we must have their details.
For those of you who are old enough, think back to Ellen DeGeneres‘s early career. Did we really have to hear her say it publically? Like we didn’t know the woman was dyked up? We laughed at her jokes anyway.
But was that good enough? In the words of the late John Belushi, Nooooooooo! We just had to be informed that she was digitally manipulating Anne Heche.
Ellen just had to “come out.” And part of coming out is bringing others out. I felt stupid asking, Ellen who? the other day when Ellen Page joined the parade.
Jody Foster managed to keep her orientation to herself for 30 years; she did not want to come out. But that wasn’t good enough for the gay Nazis; various gay publications felt obligated to “out” her anyway.
Because, you see, it must be all about them.

For the record, Michael Sam, most of us don’t give a rip if you throw a pool party, spread yak poop on your main squeeze, and lick it off on PPV. We don’t have to watch.
So just please STFU and play football—if you can—and we can either choose to watch that, or not, as well.
The NFL drafted 256 young men this weekend; you were only one of them.
Because. It. Is. Not. About. You.
