Hillary Clinton has led a tragic life: First, Republicans launched the VRWC against her model husband Bill, when all he was trying to do was dodge rape charges and lying under oath to a federal grand jury. I mean, Bill just being Bill, and people were just, well, so unfair.
Then she had to struggle through those years in the White House on a salary that left her and Bill dang near destitute, and then there were… well, as the saying goes, You had to have been there.
But perhaps the most unkindest cut of all, if life wasn’t unfair enough, was confronting the fact that Barack Obama and his campaign were sexist.
Hillary Clinton said on Tuesday there was “sexism” in Barack Obama’s 2008 presidential campaign that she and the president needed to get past.
“Beginning the process of working with then-Senator Obama after I ended my campaign, we had an awkward but necessary meeting to clear the air on a couple of issues, and one of them was the sexism that – unfortunately – was present in that ‘08 campaign,” Clinton told Robin Roberts on ABC’s “Good Morning America.”
In her new memoir, “Hard Choices,” Clinton wrote that she rejected a request from the Obama campaign to attack Sarah Palin, who was then running for vice president.
“That very first day, the Obama campaign said, ‘Well, we want you to go out there and criticize her,’ and I said ‘For what? For being a woman? No, let’s wait until we know where she stands, I don’t know anything about her. Do you know anything about her?’” Clinton said she told the Obama campaign. [Politico]
In fact, Hillary would probably appear on Governor Palin‘s reality TV series tomorrow if she were asked, she just hasn’t been asked.
Call Hillary, girl!
But if Sarah Palin had had to suffer…
But we digress. The point is, Hillary…
