Departing Attorney General Eric Holder had some words this week about recent leaks by the Ferguson, Mo. grand jury investigation.
‘I think that public opinion would be best served by doing the process as it is intended, which is to do things in secret…’?
Oh. General Holder must mean like the way he and the administration are secretly handling the Fast and Furious gun-walking investigation. Facts coming out of the Justice Department in that case are so secret that Congress still can’t get a straight answer.
That must be it.
Or the secret way he’s handling the investigation into the Obama IRS Targeting scandal, which has been so secretive that none of the targeted Americans have noticed that there is an investigation.
Or the Black Panther voter intimidation case, which secretly vanished the day he became attorney general.
That’s our Eric Holder, a by the book law and order man all the way.
I suppose we have to consider Eric Holder’s embittering life experience growing up in the Bronx, to understand why he would be so outraged.
Holder grew up ghetto-poor, harassed by the white power structure routinely, while his family struggled to achieve the American Dream like everybody else.
No, he didn’t.
That is unless you consider being stopped by the police a couple of times for traffic violations discrimination. Swing Low Sweet Chariot. The pain of it all!
Contrarily, Holder is a self-manufactured first-generation African American who has created a personal racial struggle foreign to anything in his true life experience.
And he clearly has a problem with white Americans.
Why is Eric Holder so upset with the grand jury leaks in the Michael Brown investigation?
He seemed perfectly willing to drop everything and run off to Ferguson to join the race baiters when the national media were conducting the electronic lynching of a white police officer.
Now, when hearsay—and that’s all it is at the moment—seems to support Wilson’s account Holder calls for silence.
Eric Holder had no business in Ferguson, Mo. in the first place, without evidence that a federal crime had taken place. The George H.W. Bush Justice Dept. didn’t (wrongly) involve itself in the Rodney King case until it appeared to the president that justice had not been served.
The Obama administration not only hasn’t waited for justice to run its course in the Ferguson incident but has seemingly tried to affect an outcome by intimidation.
If that sounds criminal it probably is, but Holder has almost certainly committed or abetted other federal crimes over his long tenure in the administration.
So silence in the #MikeBrown case?
The time for silence was when Eric Holder intruded himself into a state investigation of wrongdoing by a police officer, without the slightest evidence of a federal crime being committed.
Let’s hope the next administration doesn’t remain silent when it’s time to prosecute Eric Holder for his part in the Obama White House’s rampant lawlessness.
It’s a lot to hope for, but we can dream.
