The GOP clown car has a new passenger who wants to be the driver, and we’re going to like him at times. Not a whole lot of times, but sometimes.
LIVINGSTON, N.J., June 30 (UPI) — New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie formally announced Tuesday that he will seek the Republican nomination for president in 2016 as the 14th GOP candidate.
“I am now ready to fight for the people,” Christie said in his announcement speech. “I am proud to announce my candidacy for the Republican nomination for the presidency of the United States of America.”
The governor announced his candidacy at a town-hall-style event in his alma mater, Livingston High School in Livingston, N.J.
Christie joins the presidential race as an underdog when he was once seen as a frontrunner. [more]
I should get this out of the way. I will vote for the Republican candidate for president, regardless of which candidate takes the nomination. So far the toughest one I’ve seen dresses in Donna Karan Black Label, but if Gov. Christie wins (LOL) I will vote for him.
Oh, I always bluster and huff and swear I’ll stay home if Republicans nominate a Dole or a McCain or a Romney, but in the end, I will vote for Christie if he wins.
Then, along about his second year in office, when he has gone back to late night binge eating and he signs some jerkoff environmental legislation I hate, I will begin surfing the Internet for voodoo fetishes.
Barack Obama should be lesson enough for those of you who think you’ll fix those stupid RINOs by staying home. The stupid is on you.
But, swear to God…
Editors Note: Whenever I post anything remotely critical of the Republican Party, it is not popular. This may be mainly because most of my followers here and on Twitter are Republicans and they adhere to the mythical idea that Reagan’s Eleventh Commandment means anything anymore.
I want Republicans to win. It’s just that I don’t think most of them really care about winning. Worse, they don’t seem to know how to win anymore. Please be assured, I do supported the GOP, at least against the best the DNC will ever have to offer. I am always just a little reluctant about placing my future in their hands.
