The ‘Mo Better’ Obama Flu?

If you voted for John McCain and Mitt Romney in 2008 and 2012, respectively, you probably weren’t real happy about it.

If you’re anything like me, it was probably even worse when you realized, in 2008, that Sarah Palin was being trashed, not by her Democrat opponents, but secretly by members of her own campaign team.

Then your final straw was probably the Karl Rove meltdown on Fox News in November 2012, after you had been screaming at the TV screen for six months trying to tell the GOP they shouldn’t have nominated someone who on paper looked more Democrat than Republican, in the first place.

That is my story.

Some Hall’s Mentho-lyptus restored my larynx, and I’ve been gratified by the knowledge that almost no one will remember Nicolle Wallace after her stint on “The View” is over, and that Sarah Palin can’t find enough wheelbarrows to truck away her money.

But I am not ashamed I voted for either McCain or Romney. They were the choices I had against the most singularly unqualified person to run for president in my lifetime.

So why is it no one — and when I say no one, I mean no one who doesn’t have a Medea Benjamin pinup on their bedroom wall — will admit to voting for Barack Obama?

They even run from Obama’s panacea for all things wrong with center-right America.

So, why?

I’m just asking.

I mean, just because Obama turned out like an old Spike Lee groaner — all-actor-no-script — why can’t they at least admit they bought the ticket?

I did, when I voted for two men I knew didn’t share most of my conservative views.

I know “Did you vote for Barack Obama?” is a danged-if-you-did-danged-if-you-didn’t question, but that is also kind of the point, isn’t it?
