UPDATED – Pamela Geller, conservative activist and purveyor of Atlas Shrugs has been taking heat for staging the “Draw the Prophet” event in Garland, TX, Sunday night that drew out two homegrown terrorists.
Last night Bill O’Reilly and, of all people, Laura Ingraham waded in against Geller, and yesterday Donald Trump joined in against the activist housewife and her war on Islamofascism.
That was probably way more Donald Trump than most of you want with your morning coffee, so allow the RG to pare it down a bit.
The last thing we need is an obnoxious blowhard like Geller to go out and start trouble when there’s no reason for it. I’m a bigger believer in free speech than she is, believe me. …
Oh, Daaaad!
…She’s a person that’s doing this for her own purpose, Neil, and she’s doing a terrible thing for our country. …
…I’m much tougher than she is in any different way – whether it’s military, whether it’s beating ISIS or anything else.
Ahem.
When Cavuto asked Trump if he would be afraid to attack Muslims, the Donald responded predictably modestly…
”Just the opposite,” claimed Trump. “I would do things that nobody would do. I would do things that would be tougher than anybody.
…If she went after Jesus, instead of the Muslims, let’s see how long she’d last. If she went after the African-Americans, and went after the n-word… let’s see how long she would last.”
Yeah, if Geller decided to go after Jesus, she could rent a PA system, ride down Broadway on a flatbed, and Bill De Blasio might order a tickertape parade.
That’d fix her, Donald.
I won’t even address Trump’s ridiculous “n-word” analogy. Just suffice to say it’s the kind of rhetorical over-amplification someone like Trump reaches for whenever he’s short on rational facts and trying to redirect the conversation back to his own overfed self-righteous ass.
Here’s Donald patriotically not being a blowhard and not doing something for his own narcissistic purposes…
…but, mostly, we can talk about Donald.
And here he is again…
Oops! That was another obnoxious blowhard.
UPDATE – ISIS VOWS TO KILL PAMELA GELLER !!!
UPDATE – For all of you who think Geller is a self-promoting obnoxious jerk, let’s alter the scenario slightly. Let’s say your pastor decided to do a series at Wednesday night bible study on the dangers of encroaching Sharia in America. Let’s say he decided to advertise it in a local newspaper or on the radio, saying something like: There Is Only One God, And He Is Not Allah: Or Mohammed Was An Impostor! Y’all Come!
That is enough to put an Islamist fatwa on your pastor’s head, right here in the United States.
And mark my words, if we continue to ignore the radicalization here at home, this is coming to a church near you.
Geller did not provoke these domestic terrorists to violence; their religion did. Geller and her friends merely gave these terrorists the target they were already looking for.
Pamela Geller may or may not be a likable person, but the First Amendment protects the speech we hate, and the jerks who say the things we don’t want to hear.
Think about it.

I don’t understand how anyone (any conservative, at least) still considers Trump a serious participant in any political conversation (getting invited on talk shows, for example). I can’t improve on the National Review editors’ succinct summary of him in 2011:
“We had hoped that . . . there would be no further occasion to rehearse the many ways in which his sometime association with the Republican party hurts the conservative cause. So we’ll keep it brief: Trump is a tax-hike-supporting, missile-defense-opposing, universal-health-care-advocating, eminent-domain abusing, Schumer-Weiner-Rangel-Reid-donating, long-time-pro-choice economic protectionist who in 2008 called George W. Bush ‘evil’ and lauded president-elect Barack Obama as a potentially ‘great president’ who would ‘lead by consensus.'”

Trump has entertainment value but shows his ignorance in his blast towards Geller. It has nothing to do with what she’s doing and everything to do with Muslim response to a cartoon contest. In the USA. Full stop, end of story. There is no room for “but” when it comes to free speech and Gellers motives are academic.
