Anyway, here’s what happens when the media “puts the fix in,” in the post-establishment era.
Surviving copies of Newsweek with the headline “Madam President” over a picture of Hillary Clinton are being sold online for prices as high as $10,000, according to the Hill.
Newsweek magazine prepared for its first issue after the presidential election on Nov. 8 by producing two different versions. One issue had Hillary Clinton on the cover and the other had Donald Trump, who ended up winning the election.
The Clinton copy had a picture of the former Democratic nominee smiling with her hands folded under her chin. The only text on the cover read “Madam President.”
Only the Clinton versions of the commemorative special editions went to press before the election, according to CNN. A total of 125,000 copies were printed and had to be recalled after Trump’s victory on election night.
The special edition Clinton magazines had an original price tag of $10.99. Topix Media Lab, which produced the issues for Newsweek, made the decision to print the issue ahead of time “given that she is almost universally favored to win the election,” CNN reported.
“If Trump wins, the Clinton copies will be trashed and the Trump version will be rushed to the printing presses–a simple business calculation,” the media company said. [read it all]
