Obama’s impromptu remarks about Trayvon this week also set the rusty wheels turning. This is so Obama: taking time out of his busy day to put himself front and center in a debate that has nothing to do with him. Wow! The empathy, the selflessness of this man.
“Watch the crowds,” says TCTH.
Watch indeed. Travel from one leftist rally to another, and right up front and filtered throughout the crowds, you will find the same familiar faces time and again. Right now it’s Trayvon Martin but it’s the same with every lefty cause célèbre.
Name the cause and you will recognize so-called organizers from trade unions, community organizers from every media-legitimized leftist group; La Raza, various progressive church organizations, pacifist groups, dozens of environmentalists, the Rainbow Coalition, Al Sharpton’s National Action Network, every self-styled liberal cause under the sun. And, yes, even our own government.
We saw it with lesbian activist Sally Kohn, who promoted herself a gig with Fox News during the original Occupy Wall Street protests. They are essentially trash collectors; their jobs, along with some fairly large support staffs, are to round up homeless people, street hustlers and passersby, campus radicals, anyone who might be curious, and bribe them with money, clothing or food to form the mobs.
It’s the dirty little secret no one in media will tell you; they know many of these operatives, because mobs are what they do; many of them have been doing it for as long as forty years. Some travel from rally to rally, but the organizers know the neighborhoods and the malcontents in them.
These Alinskites employ sophisticated public relations apparatuses to tamp down the negative publicity and churn out the talking points.
Another tool they use are clueless celebrities. Anyone stupid enough or racially motivated enough to write a check and take a photo op with the likes of Al Sharpton, Jesse Jackson or the grieving loved ones like Trayvon Martin’s parents.
Cindy Sheehan was their poster child during the anti-Iraq demonstrations in the early 2000s. What happened to Cindy? She’s still out there, but essentially the Left dumped her as soon as she’d served her purpose.
Left-wing protests are BYOB affairs. The organizers are never involved in the violence; those activities are very often spontaneous. Invite the right people to the party. “You don’t need a weatherman to know which way the wind blows,” as Bob Dylan once wrote.
The Obama administration is deep in the shadows in fomenting the rallies and protests we are seeing, and will be just as responsible if more blood is shed. Gun control is at the apex of the president’s second term agenda and no matter the collateral damage, he intends to push through stiff new anti-gun legislation.
What we are witnessing now is an effort to re-plot a storyline, to transmute the debate. From Trayvon to the gun that killed Trayvon—your gun.

That looked incongruent with the other reports from the pro-Zimmerman side.
The Houston Chronicle identified her as Renee Vaughan:
One woman in the Zimmerman group held a sign that said, “We’re racist & proud.”
Austin resident Renee Vaughan echoed the sign’s ugly sentiments by yelling, “We’re racist. We’re proud. We’re better because we’re white,” at the Martin group as they passed, according to the Chronicle.
The act to smear the Zimmerman supporters as racists with a leftist plant worked as the photo and comment was picked up and spread worldwide. [More]
