Bill Maher Helps Charlie Rose WTFU

UPDATED — File this story under: Everyone knows I’m a liberal, so I can pretty much say anything I want and not be labeled an intolerant, un-diverse, non-inclusive, racist, xenophobic mole of a runt.

During an appearance on the Charlie Rose Show, HBO comedian Bill Maher schooled the PBS host on the dangers of Islam and the fact that there are vast differences between Islam and Christianity. After Rose attempted to make a equivalency argument about Islam and Christianity, Maher stops him, “Vast numbers of Christians do not believe that if you leave the Christian religion you should be killed for it … do not treat women like second class citizens … do not believe that if you draw a picture of Jesus Christ you should get killed for it.”

Maher goes on to make his case for why moderate Muslims have what he describes as a “connecting tissue” to groups like ISIS. Mainly it’s the Koran and a tolerance for violence and the subjugation of women and non-Muslims. [Breitbart]

I think Bill Maher has a rather simplistic overall view of religion. Maybe a nun thought he was ugly when he was a kid and went a little heavy with the ruler. Of course, the nun was right, but you can’t beat ugly out of a kid.

Anyway, it is refreshing to see a liberal who understands that Sharia is practiced in varying degrees by virtually every Islamic nation on earth; and that it follows that barbaric Sharia is the accepted orthodoxy within that religion, by most Muslims.

Therefore, one must conclude that so-called moderate Muslims (show of hands if you don’t own a suicide vest) are the ones who have tried to “hijack” a religion. With not a lot of success, one may notice.

Hey, but good for Bill.

It’s apparent that Charlie Rose got his training in Islamic studies over cocktails at Elaine’s, and has never cracked a Koran or the hadith.

Maher was all over that, and he should be commended.

Or stoned … whatever.
