The Supreme Court’s second decision for Obamacare wouldn’t be so disheartening, if the two votes we needed to get rid of this stinks-on-ice legislation hadn’t been appointed by Republican presidents.
Republicans do not have a good record with Supreme appointments.
Anyone who grew up in this country before 1970 knew John Roberts was a smug little jerk, the moment they laid eyes on him. I suspected from the beginning he couldn’t hit a softball or get a date in school. Why didn’t George W. Bush?
Even the great Ronald Reagan was duped after the failure of his Bork and Ginsberg nominations, into appointing Anthony Kennedy, a justice whose bona fides were sketchy at best. Let’s not even get into Sandra Day O’Connor.
Look at the appointments since Eisenhower. Louis Powell? Roe v. Wade; set aside death penalty for rape. Nixon. William Brennen and Earl Warren? Roe v. Wade; 1973, overturned the death penalty. Eisenhower. How about David Souter? Nixed prayer at school graduation ceremonies; Planned Parenthood v. Casey. George H.W. Bush.
Dana Perino says John Roberts was the best choice George W. Bush had at the time. Which is utter nonsense.
Yes, Roberts was with the good guys on same sex marriage, but being right half the time only makes him an inconsistent liberal.
And now we are stuck with a bad law that is likely to stay the law of the land. Forever.
Wait. Lindsey Graham says he will repeal and replace it, if we’ll elect him president.
He voted for Sonia Sotomayor and Elena Kagan.

Now the LGBT mafia will begin lawfare against all Priests and parishes/Churches that refuse to perform ‘gay marriage’. Time for the true Orthodox Christian to shed 501 (c) (3) status so they cannot be forced and extorted into doing what is sinful. Sin is still sin despite claims to the contrary, and condoning and being complicit in the sin of others is sin in and of itself. It appears to me that we must wait and see what our individual Hierarchs do and say, whether they will cave to continue their financial position as a non-profit, whether they will go underground in protest and fidelity to the Word of God and the teachings of the Councils or if they waffle and be duplicitous about their intentions. I will follow my belief and if needed, will repudiate any Priest, parish, Hierarch or Church that caves, even to the extent of becoming a rogue.
